Why do I need to verify my identification to redeem my CAD, EURO and GBP MasterCard?
The ID verification process was implemented by the Cardholder Service Provider, not BHN Rewards, as a measure to improve security and abide by anti-money laundering regulations given that they provide a near-cash product. It is now a required security step that must be completed in order to be able to access the prepaid card.
This is a one-time process and is associated with the registered email address. This means that after your identification is verified, you will not have to enter the KYC information again as long as you use the same email address in the future. If you use a new email address when registering a prepaid card, then the KYC process will be conducted.
As of May of 2021, all CAD, EURO and GBP rewards recipients will need to provide some or all of the following identity verification documents to the Cardholder Service Provider before they can activate and use their card.
- Date of Birth
- Driver’s License Number (or other identifying documents like a Passport, ID Card, etc.)
- Proof of Address (Utility bill, mortgage/rent bill, etc.)
